FAQs
Just the FAQs

  1. If I register my child and then decide that he/she won’t be able to play, can I get my registration fee back?
  1. If you contact us before the rosters have been set, you can get a refund.  After our rosters have been set, however, there are no refunds.

  1. Can my son/daughter play on the same team with friends?
  1. At the Candy level, you may request to have your child play with specific teammates.  Most often we can and will honor this request.  Starting at Passers all the way to Minors, however, we cannot and will not honor requests beyond a single request for the sponsor and/or head coach – that is, 1 request per team.  We’re not budging – please don’t ask.

  1. My daughter just got her ears pierced.  Can I cover her ears with tape during the games?
  1. No.  All jewelry must be removed, including new piercings.

  1. When can I expect to hear from my child’s coach?
  1. Soon after our coaches’ meeting which is held in the middle of July.   If you have not heard anything by Aug 1, please contact us through the website:  www.cysa.sayvillage.com

  1. If it’s raining, will we still have games?
  1. Unless it is thundering/lightning, plan to get wet!   Note:  only referees can end or cancel a game.

  1. I have a player that never shows up for practice.  Do I still have to play him in the games?
  1. Yes.  SAY rules specify that all players must play at least half of the game.

  1. I volunteered to be a coach.  Who do I contact to get information about game schedules, uniforms, etc?
  1. The coordinator for your division will contact you with information for the mandatory coaches’ meeting.  Be sure to get your coordinator’s email and/or phone number so that you can communicate your coaching needs.

  1. I’m coaching my son’s team but I’m not sure what drills I should be doing at practice.
  1. Please visit the Coach’s Corner link.  There are links to many sites that offer ideas for games and drills.
  1. How long do I need to keep my players off the field in case of lightning or thunder?

A.  30 minutes.
